SENSO is an ERC-20 token that functions as the native in-platform currency for Sensorium Galaxy, a social virtual reality (VR) metaverse. The Sensorium Galaxy project aims to transform how individuals interact and engage with artistic experiences by integrating VR, artificial intelligence (AI), and blockchain technology. All value transactions within the Sensorium Galaxy are facilitated by the SENSO token. Its applications extend to powering Web3 features within the metaverse, enabling decentralized interactions. Users can utilize SENSO for minting Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), allowing artists and creators to tokenize and monetize their digital artworks and experiences. Furthermore, SENSO supports play-to-earn (P2E) mechanisms, where participants can earn rewards through in-game activities. Other utilities include the acquisition and customization of avatars, purchasing tickets for exclusive events such as music concerts, dance shows, and art exhibitions, and participating in decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) voting to influence the platform's development. The token also enables access to memberships, exclusive metaverse content, in-app discounts, and merchandising. It allows participants to create, distribute, and monetize copyright-protected content within an open marketplace. Sensorium Corporation, a Swiss company founded in 2018, is the developer behind the Sensorium Galaxy metaverse. The technology was first showcased to the public at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in 2019. A substantial token burn occurred in April 2021, which reduced the initial token emission by 70%. The project has plans for a migration from the Ethereum blockchain to Substrate, intending to achieve faster and more economical transactions and to integrate with the broader Polkadot ecosystem.
