Scarcity (SCX) is a cryptocurrency token that functions as the universal liquidity token for the Behodler Automated Market Maker (AMM). It was launched in February 2021 and is built on the Ethereum platform, making it an ERC-20 token. Within the Behodler AMM, each token listed generates SCX along its own bonding curve. The relative price of each token in SCX determines their exchange rate, allowing for direct token-to-token swapping. A key feature of SCX is its algorithmic supply, which is proportional to the locked liquidity rather than being capped. SCX is designed as a burn-on-transfer token, meaning that its supply decreases as trading volume on external AMMs increases. This burning mechanism contributes to a growing portion of permanent liquidity on Behodler. When Scarcity is sent back to Behodler, it is burned, and users can specify which token they wish to receive in return. A small fee is levied and burned when selling Scarcity back to Behodler, which contributes to the gradual growth of the liquidity pool for all tokens. The project aims to draw liquidity into the AMM through the tokenomics of SCX, rather than relying solely on trading fees. Behodler's design, using SCX, allows the entire AMM to operate within one smart contract, which is intended to be gas-efficient. The system also strives for minimal impermanent loss, as frequent trading is expected to gradually increase the liquidity base and the value of the Scarcity token. When transferred outside of Behodler, SCX is a fee-on-transfer token, with a portion of the levied fees sent to Morgoth DAO and another portion burned. Learn more
