Satoshi BTC Stablecoin (tsat) is a Web3 token designed to represent the smallest unit of Bitcoin, known as a satoshi, in whole numbers. This project aims to simplify the understanding and management of Bitcoin by addressing the inconvenience of using Bitcoin decimals, making it more intuitive for users to track their holdings and progress towards owning a full Bitcoin. The tsat token is built on the Solana blockchain, leveraging its capabilities for high-speed and low-cost transactions. Each tsat token is fully collateralized by Threshold Network's tBTC reserves, maintaining a direct 1:1 peg with Bitcoin. This collateralization ensures that tsat combines Bitcoin's security with the scalability and programmability of modern blockchains. The total maximum supply of tsat is set at 21 trillion tokens, which corresponds to the total number of satoshis in the entire 21 million Bitcoin supply, ensuring its long-term scarcity and transparency. All of these tokens were minted at the project's inception and are held within a smart contract. They are released into circulation only when the corresponding Bitcoin collateral is deposited via tBTC. The project emphasizes security and transparency, supported by an immutable smart contract framework that ensures assets are locked and verifiable on-chain. It also operates under a multi-signature governance protocol.
