Liquidity providers can receive oRETRO emissions, and holders of oRETRO can either purchase RETRO tokens at a discounted rate or lock their oRETRO for veRETRO. veRETRO is an ERC-721 governance token, functioning as a non-fungible token. The RETRO token serves several essential functions. Holders can use RETRO for active participation in governance through voting, which influences the generation of protocol fees and the distribution of "bribes." Additionally, RETRO can be used to earn yields through various integrated decentralized finance products and facilitates transactions for payments or transfers. The oTokenomics model of Retro Finance is specifically designed to encourage long-term participation by veRETRO voters and discourage short-term, speculative farming. Holders of veRETRO receive a percentage of trading fees from the gauges they vote for and can also receive incentives in the form of autobribes. The project, which began approximately a year ago, has a dedicated development team and plans for future expansion, including cross-chain functionality.
