There appear to be two distinct crypto/Web3 projects associated with the name "Prosper" and the token ticker "PROS". The first project, often referred to as Prosper, is a non-custodial crosschain prediction market and hedging platform. This platform aims to address liquidity issues in prediction markets by utilizing binary models for liquidity provision. It operates on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) mainnet. Users on this platform can make predictions on the values of various assets and cryptocurrencies. A key feature is the ability for users to create their own prediction pools with custom conditions. The second project also named Prosper, or Prosper (PROS), is a decentralized protocol focused on integrating institutional-grade Bitcoin mining power onto the blockchain. This initiative aims to enhance the decentralization of Bitcoin by allowing broader community participation in mining. The PROS token in this context represents a portion of the protocol's overall Bitcoin mining power. Holders of PROS tokens can stake them to earn Bitcoin rewards and participate in the governance of the protocol through a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO). This version of Prosper began development in 2021 and shifted its strategic focus to Bitcoin mining in late 2024.
