Proof of Liquidity (POL) is a concept and a blockchain consensus mechanism designed to address liquidity challenges within the decentralized finance (DeFi) space. Some implementations of Proof of Liquidity, such as in Berachain, utilize a multi-token model. This model separates the token used for gas and network security from tokens used for governance and economic incentives, with distinct tokens for governance, utility, and rewards to align incentives among all ecosystem participants.
