NEXUS (NEX) is a crypto and Web3 project centered around a next-generation, Ethereum-compatible blockchain. It is designed to deliver low and consistent gas fees, alongside high throughput, aiming for efficiency and scalability across various applications. This blockchain introduces a method for users to pay gas fees using standard tokens and includes a priority fee system for transaction ordering. The project's goal is to encourage the widespread adoption of decentralized applications by enhancing performance, lowering costs, and improving user experience. NEXUS functions as a Layer 1 blockchain, emphasizing performance, scalability, and verifiability. It is built to manage intensive workloads, including artificial intelligence operations and decentralized finance. A notable feature is its embedded zero-knowledge virtual machine (zkVM) present in every node, which is compatible with the RISC-V architecture. This zkVM enables independent verification of each transaction and promotes scalability through parallel processing. The network operates on a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism. The project also focuses on quantum resistance, incorporating 571-bit private keys and 1024-bit Skein and Keccak quantum-resistant hashing algorithms. It utilizes signature chains, or sigchains, to provide a system for cryptographic identity and proof of ownership, allowing users to access their wallets with a username, password, and PIN instead of complex private keys. NEXUS envisions rebuilding the internet as a decentralized platform, leveraging mesh networks and cube micro-satellites to create an uncensorable and free internet, supported by an operating system called LX-OS. Basic transactions on the NEXUS blockchain are free and confirmed quickly. Developers can easily deploy Ethereum-based smart contracts due to its EVM compatibility. The platform also uses a Lower Level Database (LLD) for efficient data management and allows for the creation of non-fungible tokens, referred to as assets.
