NEKO is a crypto project that originated as the first meme coin on the NEAR Protocol, a layer-1 blockchain. The project's mission is to help drive widespread adoption of the NEAR Protocol. It rewards content creators with NEKO tokens for producing educational materials about the NEAR ecosystem. Half of this tax is automatically burned, while the other half is deposited into a "Fortune Cookie Vault" for community distribution. Launched in early 2022, NEKO has cultivated a significant community. The project is supported by the "Good Fortune Felines" NFT collection, which forms a core part of the NEKO community and offers utility to its holders. NEKO is also involved in Decentralized Finance, with its token sponsored by Jump DeFi to highlight various DeFi offerings on NEAR Protocol. Additionally, NEKO has expanded its ecosystem by acquiring an AI application called Aggregated AI, also known as BabyAI.
