MuesliSwap MILK (MILK) is the utility and governance token for the MuesliSwap ecosystem, a decentralized exchange (DEX) primarily operating on the Cardano blockchain. MuesliSwap launched its DEX on the Cardano mainnet in November 2021, making it one of the first operational DEXs on Cardano. The platform also extends its operations to Milkomeda and Smart Bitcoin Cash. The MuesliSwap DEX utilizes a decentralized order book model, an approach that differentiates it from Automated Market Maker (AMM) models common on other blockchains. This model is designed to work with Cardano's EUTxO transaction model, supporting features like limit orders, fast transaction settlements, and low fees while protecting against frontrunning. The MILK token serves multiple purposes within the MuesliSwap platform. It offers access to exclusive trading features and reduced transaction fees. Holders of MILK can participate in community governance by voting on proposals, including the listing of new tokens and the direction of future development. Staking MILK allows users to earn other Cardano tokens, and it provides early access to MuesliPad, the platform's launchpad. In January 2024, MuesliSwap initiated a migration from the original MILK token (v1) to a new version, MILKv2. This migration was decided through a governance vote and introduces decimal places to the token for increased flexibility and precision in transactions. Both versions maintain full utility within the ecosystem, with a 1:1 correspondence between MILKv1 and MILKv2. Users are encouraged to migrate to MILKv2 as rewards for older MILK tokens in farms and staking gradually decrease over time. The MuesliSwap team, based in Switzerland, consists of skilled computer scientists with experience in Haskell and algorithm design.
