Molten (MOLTEN) is a cryptocurrency and Web3 project centered around a Layer 2 (L2) scaling solution designed to improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of decentralized trading. The Molten token functions as the native gas utility token for the Molten Layer 2 network. The project aims to address issues such as high transaction fees and oracle Miner Extractable Value (MEV) on blockchain platforms. Molten strives to provide a secure, ultra-low-cost, and Oracle Extractable Value (OEV) protected Layer 2 environment specifically tailored for traders. It incorporates an oracle that is resistant to OEV manipulation, which enhances the security and fairness of the trading environment. Molten operates on the Ethereum platform, having been launched in 2020. It is also described as an Orbit stack L3 built on Arbitrum, utilizing Celestia DA, and was created by the UniDex team. The platform is powered by the UniDex aggregator, which offers a frontend for traders to consolidate their swaps, perpetual futures, and other trading activities. The MOLTEN token serves several key functions within its ecosystem. It is used to obtain discounts on trading fees, with various tiers available to users. It also acts as the network's gas token, facilitating transactions on the Molten L2 network. Furthermore, MOLTEN holders can participate in governance processes, allowing them to vote on proposals that influence the network's development and policies. Beyond these roles, the token is used for payments within the UniDex ecosystem and supports staking for earning rewards, as well as the creation and trading of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). Molten has a total supply of 4,000,000 MOLTEN tokens. The project, including Molten Finance, is also establishing itself within the Bitcoin DeFi space. Molten Finance specifically addresses fragmented liquidity across different representations of Bitcoin by consolidating trading infrastructure and promoting deep liquidity pools for Bitcoin-pegged assets.
