Mines of Dalarnia (DAR) is a play-to-earn adventure game built on blockchain technology. It operates on the BSC network, having initially been developed on the Chromia Chain before launching on the BNB blockchain in April 2022. The game is set in a futuristic galaxy guided by an Artificial Intelligence called The Onemind, which has introduced "Terraforming Capsules" that rapidly evolve planets, creating valuable subterranean resources. This has led to a "gold rush" drawing adventurers to the Dalarnia sector. The gameplay features two main roles: Miners and Landowners. Miners explore dangerous, procedurally-generated mines to collect tokenized in-game assets and resources, battle monsters, and upgrade their equipment. Landowners provide mining plots, which can be upgraded to different depths, each associated with specific resources. Landowners can also rent out their plots to miners, potentially earning income. Resources collected can be used for crafting equipment, cosmetics, or consumables, or traded with other players. Players can improve their character's power level and progress by upgrading equipment. While parts of the game are free, a Mining Pass is required to access gameplay on larger, player-owned planets and unlock all features. The DAR token serves as the native in-game currency and is central to the game's economy. It is used for in-game purchases, trading non-fungible tokens (NFTs), upgrading tools and skills, and paying transaction fees. Players can earn DAR by collecting minerals and participating in in-game activities. Additionally, DAR tokens can be staked in planet-specific pools, which can help players level up faster. The project aims for decentralized governance, allowing token holders to participate in game direction decisions. Mines of Dalarnia was developed by Workinman Interactive and ChromaWay and has received funding from investors such as Animoca Brands and Binance Labs.
