Aptos (APT) is a Layer 1 blockchain platform designed to provide a scalable, secure, and reliable foundation for decentralized applications (dApps). This parallel processing capability allows the network to handle multiple transactions concurrently, significantly enhancing throughput and reducing transaction latency, which is an improvement over traditional blockchains that often process transactions sequentially. The primary goal of Aptos is to foster the mass adoption of Web3 technologies by offering a platform that simplifies blockchain development and improves the user experience. It supports a wide range of use cases, including decentralized finance (DeFi), non-fungible tokens (NFTs), payments, gaming, and social media. The native token of the Aptos ecosystem, APT, serves several functions.
