Ethereum Leads Average Stablecoin Transactions, Mantle and Sui Outperform L2 Giants

Ethereum (ETH) now tops all blockchains with an average stablecoin transaction size of $68,000, as reported by CryptoRank.io.

This leading position in large-value stablecoin movements for Ethereum is notable as ETH itself has seen recent market strength, influenced by its Pectra upgrade and broader trends set by Bitcoin. As of press time, ETH is trading at $2,602 with a market cap of $314.17 billion.

Following Ethereum, Base network secured the second spot with a $20,200 average, while Tron achieved the third place with an $8,900 average. Further down the list, Mantle and Avalanche were also in the top five, securing average stablecoin transaction sizes of $6,850 and $6,120, respectively.

The report highlighted that stablecoin activity on Base boomed in Q1 2025. According to recent , Base reached an all time high of $3.81 trillion in stablecoin volume and attracted over 915,000 active users across the quarter.

Meanwhile, the other contenders in the top 10 include Sui, Optimism, TON, , and Polygon. Sui secured the sixth place in the list with $5,750 while Optimism registered $2,720. TON followed with $2,510, Arbitrum with $2,100, and Polygon held the last spot in this group with $1,660.

A notable aspect of the CryptoRank.io findings is the performance of Mantle . These emerging chains surpassed two of the most established Ethereum Layer 2 networks, Arbitrum and Optimism, in terms of average transfer volume per stablecoin transaction. This outperformance indicates growing user trust and confidence in these chains, which are often promoted as being highly scalable and efficient.

The tendency for users to move large amounts per transaction often reflects a preference for networks offering low fees and high throughput, which could be the reason for increased average transaction sizes seen on Mantle and Sui.
